Being featuring on AppStore is the greatest gift for developer, especially an indie developer like me.
After MILLION'S LOVERS released on iPhone for 3 months, people can barely discover it on AppStore although some sites review it, the coverage is still not wide enough. I have to do something in order to get it back to life, I emailed Apple marketing department for review, I wish a beautiful game like this should get a chance.
No response, still no response day after day, I started questioning myself is it good enough and told myself don't expect too much, after all it is the first game I ever made, most importantly i've done all I can.
Until that morning, 2 weeks after I sent the email, I was planning the game may have to go freemium to gain more exposures and gain some ads profit to keep me working. An unexpected email appeared in my inbox for the second I turned on my laptop. It's from iTuneStroe asking for Promotional Artworks, they are considering to feature my app!
Finally! Although it is not guaranteed, it still proved my game is good enough to be shown in front of people, a lot of people!
All the hard work pay off at that time, I deeply believe my game have a great chance!
It wasn't my intention/aim to get featured when creating the game, I just told myself the quality needs to be as good as the best game out there, and hopefully people notice it and say few good words.
However, once it released, you always want more.
I told myself, Well done!
